حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ قَالَ ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ
خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَا تَعُدُّونَ الشَّهِيدَ فِيكُمْ؟» قُلْنَا مَنْ قُتِلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ قال «مَنْ قُتِلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ وَمَنْ غَرِقَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ وَمَنْ قَتَلَهُ الْبَطْنُ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ وَالْمَرْأَةُ يَقْتُلُهَا نِفَاسُهَا فَهِيَ شَهِيدَةٌ»

✧ The Messenger ﷺ came out to us and said: “Who do you count as a martyr among you?” We said: “The one who is killed in the path of God.” He said: “The one who is killed in the path of God is a martyr, and the one who drowns in the path of God is a martyr, and the one whom a stomach ailment kills is a martyr, and the woman whom childbirth kills is a martyr.”
