حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بنُ أَيُّوبَ الْعَلَّافُ قَالَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بنُ أَبِي مَرْيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا نَافِعُ بنُ يَزِيدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي رَبِيعَةُ بنُ سَيفٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَبدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ

قَبَرْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ رَجُلًا فَلَمَّا رَجَعْنَا وَحَاذَيْنَا بَابَهُ إِذَا هُوَ بِامْرَأَةٍ مُقْبِلَةٍ لَا نَظُنُّهُ عَرَفَهَا فَقَالَ «يَا فَاطِمَةُ مِنْ أَيْنَ جِئْتِ؟» قَالَتْ مِنْ عِنْدِ أَهْلِ هَذَا الْمَيِّتِ رَحِمْتُ إِلَيْهِمْ مَيِّتَهُمْ وَعَزَّيْتُهُمْ قَالَ «فَلَعَلَّكِ بَلَغْتِ مَعَهُمُ الْكُدَى» قَالَتْ مَعَاذَ اللهِ أَنْ أَبْلُغَ مَعَهُمُ الْكُدَى وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُكَ تَذْكُرُ مِنْهُمْ مَا تَذْكُرُ قَالَ «لَوْ بَلَغْتِ مَعَهُمُ الْكُدَى مَا رَأَيْتِ الْجَنَّةَ حَتَّى يَرَاهَا جَدُّ أَبِيكِ» وَالْكُدَى الْمَقَابِرُ

✧ We buried a man with the Messenger of God ﷺ. When we returned and reached his door, there was a woman approaching. We do not think he recognized her. He said, "O Fatimah, from where have you come?" She said, "From the family of this deceased; I showed mercy to them for their deceased and offered my condolences." He said, "Perhaps you reached the graves with them?" She said, "God forbid that I should reach the graves with them, since I heard you mention about them what you mention." He said, "If you had reached the graves with them, you would not have seen Paradise until the grandfather of your father sees it." The graves are the burial grounds.
