حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ قَالَ ثنا حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي شُرَحْبِيلُ بْنُ شَرِيكٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يُحَدِّثُ
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو يَقُولُ «لَخَيْرٌ أَعْمَلُهُ الْيَوْمَ أَحَبُّ إِلَىَّ مِنْ مِثْلَيْهِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لِأَنَّا كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ تَهُمُّنَا الْآخِرَةُ وَلَا تَهُمُّنَا الدُّنْيَا وَإِنَّا الْيَوْمَ قَدْ مَالَتْ بِنَا الدُّنْيَا»

✧ He heard Abdullah b. Amr say, "Indeed, the good I do today is more beloved to me than twice as much with the Messenger of God ﷺ, because when we were with the Messenger of God ﷺ, our concern was the Hereafter and the world did not concern us, but today the world has drawn us in."
