حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الضَّبِّيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ كَسَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قُبْطِيَّةً وَكَسَى أُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ حُلَّةً سِيَرَاءَ فَنَظَرَ فَرَآنِي أَسْبَلْتُ فَجَاءَ فَأَخَذَ بِمَنْكِبِي فَقَالَ «يَا ابْنَ عُمَرَ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ يَمَسُّ الْأَرْضَ مِنَ الثِّيَابِ فِي النَّارِ» فَرَأَيْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَأْتَزِرُ إِلَى نِصْفِ السَّاقِ

✧ I heard Ibn ʿUmar say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ clothed me with a Qubtiyyah garment, and he clothed Usamah b. Zayd with a striped silk hullah. He looked and saw that I had let my garment hang low, so he came and took hold of my shoulder and said: “O Ibn ʿUmar, everything of the clothing that touches the ground is in the Fire.” Then I saw Ibn ʿUmar wear his izar up to the middle of his shin.
