حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ الْجَعْدِ ثنا أَبُو شَيْبَةَ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ قَالَ
لَمَّا نَزَلَ بِالنَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَوْمَ أَحَدٍ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ قَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ «إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ فِي الْمَنَامِ سَيْفِي ذَا الْفَقَارِ انْكَسَرَ وَرَأَيْتُ بَقَرًا تُذْبَحُ وَهِيَ مُصِيبَةٌ وَرَأَيْتُ عَلَيَّ دِرْعِي وَهِيَ مَدِينَتُكُمْ لَا يَصِلُونَ إِلَيْهَا إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ»

✧ When Abu Sufyan and his companions descended upon the Prophet ﷺ on the day of Uhud, he said to his companions, "I saw in a dream my sword Dhu al-Faqar broke, and I saw cows being slaughtered, and that is a calamity, and I saw upon me my coat of mail, and it is your city—they will not reach it, God willing."
