حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

«أَنَّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ أَصَابُوا رَجُلًا مِنْ عُظَمَاءِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَتَلُوهُ فَسَأَلُوهُ أَنْ يَشْتَرُوهُ فَنَهَاهُمُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَنْ يَبِيعُوا بِجِيفَتِهِ»

✧ The Muslims captured one of the prominent men of the idolaters and killed him. Then they asked to ransom him, but the Prophet ﷺ forbade them to sell his corpse.
