حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي نُعَيْمٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يُصَلِّي فَجَاءَ أَبُو جَهْلٍ فَنَهَاهُ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ» فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَعَالَى {وَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُ سَنَدْعُ الزَّبَانِيَةَ} قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ وَلَوْ فَعَلَ لَأَخَذَتْهُ الزَّبَانِيَةُ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was praying when Abu Jahl came and forbade him from praying. Then Allah, the Exalted, revealed: 'And let him call his associates; We will call the zabaniyah.' Ibn ʿAbbas said: "If he had done so, the zabaniyah would have seized him."
