✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat in a house wearing only a waist-wrapper, which he had thrown between his legs, with his thighs exposed. Abu Bakr came seeking permission to enter, so he granted him permission and he entered. Then Umar came, so he granted him permission and he entered. Then Uthman came, so he granted him permission. When the Prophet ﷺ saw him, he rose quickly and entered the inner room. That was hard for Aisha. When the people left, she said: O Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr and Umar entered and you did not change your state, but when Uthman entered you stood up. He said: “O Aisha, should I not feel shy before one before whom the angels feel shy? Indeed the angels feel shy before Uthman.”
