حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
إِنَّ الْآيَاتِ الَّتِي فِي الْمَائِدَةِ {فَاحْكُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ بِالْقِسْطِ إِنَّ اللهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُقْسِطِينَ} إِنَّمَا نَزَلَتْ فِي الدِّيَةِ فِي بَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ وَبَنِي النَّضِيرِ وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ قَبِيلَ بَنِي النَّضِيرِ كَانَ لَهُمْ شَرَفٌ يُؤَدُّونَ الدِّيَةَ كَامِلَةً وَإِنَّ بَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ كَانُوا يُؤَدُّونَ نِصْفَ الدِّيَةِ فَتَحَاكَمُوا فِي ذَلِكَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ذَلِكَ فِيهِمْ فَحَمَلَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى الْحَقِّ فِي ذَلِكَ فَجَعَلَ الدِّيَةَ سَوَاءً

✧ The verses in al-Ma'idah, {So judge between them with justice; indeed, Allah loves those who act justly}, were revealed concerning blood money among Banu Qurayzah and Banu al-Nadir. That is because the tribe of Banu al-Nadir had a higher status, so they used to pay the full blood money, while Banu Qurayzah used to pay half the blood money. They brought their dispute about that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and Allah revealed that concerning them. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ made them adhere to the truth in that matter and made the blood money equal.
