حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا حَمْزَةُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْقُدُّوسِ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي قَوْلِهِ {مُسَوِّمِينَ} قَالَ «مُعَلَّمِينَ وَكَانَتْ سِيمَاءُ الْمَلَائِكَةِ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ عمائمَ سُودٍ وَيَوْمَ أَحَدٍ عمائمَ حُمْرٍ»

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said regarding His saying {marked} [Quran 3:125]: "It means 'distinguished.' The distinguishing mark of the angels on the day of Badr was black turbans, and on the day of Uhud red turbans."
