حَدَّثَنَا مَسْعَدَةُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْعَطَّارُ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ حَدَّثَنِي أَيُّوبُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
«لَمْ يُقَاتِلِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِلَّا يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ وَكَانَتْ فِيمَا سِوَى ذَلِكَ إِمدادًا وَلَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِنَ الْخَيْلِ إِلَّا فَرَسَانِ أَحَدُهُمَا لِلْمِقْدَادِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ وَالْآخَرُ لِأَبِي مَرْثَدٍ الْغَنَوِيِّ»

✧ The angels did not fight alongside the Prophet ﷺ except on the Day of Badr, and on other occasions they were reinforcements. The Prophet ﷺ had only two horses with him: one belonging to al-Miqdad b. al-Aswad and the other to Abu Marthad al-Ghanawi.
