حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلْمٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ثنا مُعَلَّى الْجُعْفِيُّ عَنْ لَيْثٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ وَعَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

شَكا رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ الْعُزوبةَ فَقَالَ أَلَا أَخْتَصِي؟ فَقَالَ «لَا لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ خَصَى أَوِ اخْتَصَى وَلَكِنْ صُمْ وَوَفِّرْ شَعَرَ جَسَدِكَ»

Translation

✧ A man complained to the Prophet ﷺ about celibacy and said, “Should I not castrate myself?” He said: “No. He who castrates or has himself castrated is not of us, but fast and let the hair of your body grow.”
