حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا مُعَلَى بْنُ مَهْدِيٌّ الْمَوْصِلِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ثنا أَبُو شِهَابٍ الْحَنَّاطُ ثنا عِيسَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ
لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا غُلَامُ احْفَظِ اللهَ يَحْفَظْكَ احْفَظِ اللهَ تَجِدْهُ أَمَامَكَ تَعَرَّفْ بِاللهِ فِي الرَّخَاءِ يَعْرِفْكَ فِي الشِّدَّةِ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ مَا أَصَابَكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُخْطِئَكَ وَمَا أَخْطَأَكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُصِيبَكَ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ الْخَلَائِقَ لَوِ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى أَنْ يُعْطُوكَ شَيْئًا لَمْ يُرِدِ اللهُ أَنْ يُعْطِيَكَ لَمْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَيْهِ أَوْ يَصْرِفُوا عَنْكَ شَيْئًا أَرَادَ أَنْ يُصِيبَكَ بِهِ لَمْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَى ذَلِكَ فَإِذَا سَأَلْتَ فَسَلِ اللهَ وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِاللهِ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ النَّصْرَ مَعَ الصَّبْرِ وَأَنَّ الْفَرَجَ مَعَ الْكَرْبِ وَأَنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ الْقَلَمَ قَدْ جَرَى بِمَا هُوَ كَائِنٌ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said to me: “O boy, preserve God and He will preserve you. Preserve God and you will find Him before you. Know God in times of ease, and He will know you in times of hardship. Know that what missed you was not going to befall you, and what befell you was not going to miss you. Know that creation, if they were to gather to give you something that God did not will to give you, they would have no power over it, or to turn away from you something that He willed to befall you, they would have no power over that. When you ask, ask God, and when you seek help, seek help from God. Know that victory comes with patience, relief with distress, and with hardship comes ease. Know that the pen has already run with what is to be.”
