حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ أنا شُعْبَةُ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَسَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {اتَّقُوا اللهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ} الْآيَةَ فَقَالَ «لَوْ أَنَّ قَطْرَةً مِنَ الزَّقُّومِ قُطِرَتْ فِي بحارِ الدُّنْيَا لَأَفْسَدَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ مَعَايِشَهُمْ كَيْفَ بِمَنْ يَكُونُ طَعَامَهُ؟»

✧ That the Messenger of God ﷺ recited this verse: “Fear God with the fear due to Him...” (the verse), and said: “If a drop of zaqqūm were dropped into the seas of this world, it would corrupt their livelihoods. How much worse for the one whose food it will be?”
