حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ح وثنا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَا ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ حَفْصٍ

حَدَّثَنِي شَيْخٌ مِنْ بَنِي تَيْمٍ يُكَنَّى أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ فَمَرَّ بِلَالٌ فَسَأَلُوهُ عَنْ وُضُوءِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «كَانَ يَقْضِي الْحَاجَةَ فَيَجِيءُ فَيَتَوَضَّأُ وَيَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخِمَارِ وَالْمُوقَيْنِ»

✧ A shaykh from Banu Taym, whose kunya is Abu ‘Abd Allah, told me, from Abu ‘Abd al-Rahman, who said: I was with ‘Abd al-Rahman b. ‘Awf when Bilal passed by. They asked him about the ablution of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: “He would relieve himself, then come and perform ablution, and wipe over the head covering and the muqs.”
