حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أَنَّ الْقَاسِمَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَاعَنَ بَيْنَ الْعَجْلَانِيِّ وَامْرَأَتِهِ وَكَانَتْ حُبْلَى وَقَالَ زَوْجُهَا وَاللهِ مَا قَرِبْتُهَا مُنْذُ عَفَرْنَا النَّخْلَ الْعَفْرُ سَقْيُ النَّخْلِ بَعْدَ أَنْ يُتْرَكَ مِنَ السَّقْيِ مِنَ الْأَبْيَارِ لِشَهْرَيْنِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اللهُمَّ بَيِّنْ» وَزَعَمُوا أَنَّ زَوْجَ الْمَرْأَةِ كَانَ حَمْشَ الذِّرَاعَيْنِ وَالسَّاقَيْنِ أَصْهَبَ الشَّعْرَةِ وَكَانَ الَّذِي رُمِيَتْ بِهِ ابْنَ السَّحْمَاءِ قَالَتْ فَجَاءَتْ بِغُلَامٍ أَسْوَدَ أَجْلَى جَعْدٍ قَطَطٍ عَبْلِ الذِّرَاعَيْنِ خَدَلَّجِ السَّاقَيْنِ

✧ That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ conducted the liʿān between the ʿAjlānī man and his wife, and she was pregnant. Her husband said, “By Allah, I have not approached her since we pollinated the palm trees — al-ʿafr is the watering of palm trees after the watering from the wells is left off for two months.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, “O Allah, make it clear.” They claimed that the woman’s husband was thin in the forearms and shins, with reddish hair, and that the one with whom she was accused was Ibn al-Saḥmāʾ. She said, “Then she gave birth to a boy who was black, clear-skinned, with curly, tightly coiled hair, thick forearms, and plump shins.”
