حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ ثنا سَلَّامٌ الطَّوِيلُ عَنْ زَيْدٍ الْعَمِّيِّ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ النُّطْفَةَ لَتَكُونُ فِي الرَّحِمِ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا ثُمَّ تَكُونُ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ عَلَقَةً ثُمَّ تَكُونُ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ مُضْغَةً ثُمَّ يَبْعَثُ اللهُ الْمَلَكَ بِأَرْبَعِ كَلِمَاتٍ فَيَكْتُبُ رِزْقَهُ وَأَجَلَهُ وَشَقِيٌّ أَوَ سَعِيدٌ»

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: 'Indeed, the drop of semen remains in the womb for forty days, then it becomes a clinging clot for a similar period, then it becomes a lump of flesh for a similar period. Then God sends the angel with four words, and he writes its provision, its lifespan, and whether it is wretched or blessed.'
