حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ النَّحْوِيُّ أَبُو عَامِرٍ الصُّورِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ابْنُ بِنْتِ شُرَحْبِيلَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرُ بْنُ كِدَامٍ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ [ مَزْيَدٍ ]، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَابِطٍ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ

أَنَّهُ أَصَابَهُ أَرَقٌ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ إِذَا قُلْتَهُنَّ نِمْتَ ؟ قُلِ: اللَّهُمَّ، رَبَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَمَا أَظَلَّتْ، وَرَبَّ الْأَرَضِينَ السَّبْعِ وَمَا أَقَلَّتْ، وَرَبَّ الشَّيَاطِينِ وَمَا أَضَلَّتْ - كُنْ لِي جَارًا مِنْ شَرِّ خَلْقِكَ جَمِيعًا؛ أَنْ يَفْرُطَ عَلَيَّ أَحَدٌ مِنْهُمْ أَوْ أَنْ يَطْغَى، عَزَّ جَارُكَ، وَلَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ

✧ He suffered from insomnia, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Shall I teach you words that if you say them you will sleep? Say: O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and what they shade, Lord of the seven earths and what they carry, Lord of the devils and what they mislead — be a protector for me against the evil of all Your creation, lest any of them transgress against me or oppress. Mighty is Your protection, and there is no god but You.'
