حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ عَامِرِ بْنِ وَاثِلَةَ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ ؓ:

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا ارْتَحَلَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَزِيغَ الشَّمْسُ أَخَّرَ الظُّهْرَ حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَهَا مَعَ الْعَصْرِ، وَإِذَا ارْتَحَلَ بَعْدَ زَيْغِ الشَّمْسِ عَجَّلَ الْعَصْرَ حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَهُمَا جَمِيعًا، وَإِذَا ارْتَحَلَ قَبْلَ غُرُوبِ الشَّمْسِ أَخَّرَ الْمَغْرِبَ حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَهُمَا جَمِيعًا، وَإِذَا ارْتَحَلَ بَعْدَ غُرُوبِ الشَّمْسِ صَلَّاهَا مَعَ الْمَغْرِبِ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ, when he set out before the sun declined, would delay Zuhr until he prayed it with Asr; when he set out after the sun declined, he would bring Asr forward until he prayed them together. When he set out before sunset, he would delay Maghrib until he prayed them together; when he set out after sunset, he would pray it with Maghrib.
