✧ A man was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who had stabbed another man in his thigh with a horn. The one whose thigh was stabbed said: “Grant me retaliation, O Messenger of Allah.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Treat it and wait with it until we see what becomes of it.” The man said: “O Messenger of Allah, grant me retaliation.” He said to him the same thing. The man said: “Grant me retaliation, O Messenger of Allah.” So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ granted him retaliation. Then the leg of the man who had been granted retaliation withered, while the leg of the man from whom retaliation had been taken healed. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ invalidated its blood money.
