حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ حُبَاشٍ الْحِمَّانِيُّ الْكُوفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الْعَطَّارُ الْكُوفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سَيْفُ بْنُ عَمِيرَةَ، عَنْ أَبَانَ بْنِ تَغْلِبَ، حَدَّثَنَا سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهَا

سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي لَأُحَدِّثُ نَفْسِي بِالشَّيْءِ لَوْ تَكَلَّمْتُ بِهِ لَأَحْبَطْتُ أَجْرِي، فَقَالَ: لَا يُلَقَّى ذَلِكَ الْكَلَامَ إِلَّا مُؤْمِنٌ

✧ She heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when a man asked him: I sometimes say things to myself which, if I were to utter them, would nullify my reward. He said: 'No one is afflicted with such speech except a believer.'
