حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْبَصْرِيُّ وَكِيلُ أَبِي أَكْثَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْخَطَّابِ زِيَادُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ سُعَيْرِ بْنِ الْخِمْسِ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

بُعِثْتُ رَحْمَةً مُهْدَاةً

    يرويه الأعمش واختلف عنه فرواه مالك بن سعير عن الأعمش عن أبي صالح عن أبي هريرة وخالفه وكيع فرواه عن الأعمش عن أبي صالح عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم مرسلا وهو الصواب

    machine translationIt is narrated by al-Aʿmash, and there is disagreement concerning him. Mālik b. Saʿīr narrated it from al-Aʿmash, from Abū Ṣāliḥ, from Abū Hurayrah. Wakīʿ contradicted him and narrated it from al-Aʿmash, from Abū Ṣāliḥ, from the Prophet ﷺ as a mursal report (mursal), and this is the correct version.
