حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَائِلَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَجَلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ حَيٍّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الْجَفْشِيشِ الْكِنْدِيِّ قَالَ:

جَاءَ قَوْمٌ مِنْ كِنْدَةَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا: أَنْتَ مِنَّا وَادَّعُوهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: لَا نَقْفُو أُمَّنَا، وَلَا نَنْتَفِي مِنْ أَبِينَا، نَحْنُ مِنْ وَلَدِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ كِنَانَةَ

Translation

✧ Some people from Kindah came to the Messenger of God ﷺ and said: “You are from us,” and they claimed him. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “We do not deny our mother, nor do we disavow our father. We are from the descendants of al-Naḍr b. Kinānah.”
