✧ A man had recently married, and the Messenger of God ﷺ dispatched an expedition and sent that man among them. When the people came back, he hurried to his family, and found his wife standing at her door. Jealousy entered him, so he readied a spear to thrust at her. She said: Do not rush; look at what is in the house. He entered the house and found a snake coiled on her bed. He thrust at the snake, and it died, and the man died too. This reached the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: "Indeed, these houses have dwellers from the jinn," and he forbade killing house snakes.
