حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْجَرَّاحِ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْكَاتِبُ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّي يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، مَوْلَى آلِ رِفَاعَةَ بْنِ رَافِعٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ بْنِ رَافِعٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ:

مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِأَبِي عَائِشٍ زَيْدِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ أَحَدِ بَنِي زُرَيْقٍ، وَقَدْ جَلَسَ، وَقَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ، إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِأَنَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، يَا مَنَّانُ، يَا بَدِيعَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ، يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِنَفَرٍ مَعَهُ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ: " هَلْ تَدْرُونَ مَا دَعَا بِهِ الرَّجُلُ ؟ "، فَقَالُوا: اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، قَالَ: لَقَدْ دَعَا بِاسْمِهِ الْأَعْظَمِ الَّذِي إِذَا دُعِيَ بِهِ أَجَابَ، وَإِذَا سُئِلَ بِهِ أَعْطَى

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ passed by Abu 'A'ish Zayd b. al-Samit, one of the Banu Zurayq, who had sat down and said, 'O God, I ask You by the fact that praise is Yours, there is no god but You, O Benefactor, O Originator of the heavens and the earth, O Possessor of majesty and honor.' The Messenger of God ﷺ said to a group of his companions with him, 'Do you know what this man has supplicated with?' They said, 'God and His Messenger know best.' He said, 'He has supplicated by His greatest name, by which when He is called upon He answers, and when He is asked by it He gives.'
