حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مَسْمُولٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ ضَمَّرَ الْخَيْلَ وَسَابَقَ بَيْنَهَا، فَرَآنِي رَاكِبًا عَلَى بَعِيرٍ، فَقَالَ: يَا جَابِرُ، لَا تَزَالُ تَتَضَعُهُ أَيْ لَا تَزَالُ تَضْرِبُهُ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ trained horses and made them race. He saw me riding a camel and said: "O Jabir, you will keep on urging it," meaning, you will keep on beating it.
