حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ، نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سِيَابَةَ، ثَنَا عَمْرُو ابْنُ أَخِي الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، ثَنَا عَمِّي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ:

لَمَّا رَآنِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَا أُمْسِكُ شَيْئًا، إِنَّمَا أُنْفِقُهُ، قَالَ لِي: يَا جَرِيرُ لَا عَلَيْكَ أَنْ تُمْسِكَ عَلَيْكَ مَالَكَ؛ فَإِنَّ لِهَذَا الْأَمْرِ مُدَّةً

✧ When the Prophet ﷺ saw me not holding on to anything—rather I would spend it all—he said to me: 'O Jarir, there is no harm in your holding on to your wealth, for this matter has a duration.'
