حَدَّثَنَا مُوَرِّعُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، ثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، نَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ. عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ:
جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: " يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ الْبَارِحَةَ فِي الْمَنَامِ أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَشَهِدَ أَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ اللهُ دَرَجَةً فِي الْجَنَّةِ، إِلَّا أَصْحَابَ الشَّاهِ - وَهُوَ الشِّطْرَنْجُ

✧ A Bedouin came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Prophet of God, I saw last night in a dream that there is no servant who bears witness that there is no god but God and bears witness that you are the Messenger of God except that God raises him a degree in Paradise, except the people of the shah—and that is chess.'
