حَدَّثَنَا مِقْدَامٌ: نَا خَالِدٌ: نَا عِيسَى بْنُ الْمُطَّلِبِ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ:

لَأَصُومَنَّ مَا عِشْتُ، وَلَأَقُومَنَّ اللَّيْلَ مَا عِشْتُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: أَنْتَ الَّذِي قُلْتَ: لَأَصُومَنَّ الدَّهْرَ مَا عِشْتُ، وَلَأَقُومَنَّ اللَّيْلَ مَا عِشْتُ ؟ " فَقَالَ لَهُ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو: قَدْ قُلْتُ ذَاكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " صُمْ وَأَفْطِرْ، وَصَلِّ وَنَمْ، وَصُمْ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ، فَكُلُّ حَسَنَةٍ بِعَشْرِ أَمْثَالِهَا " قَالَ: إِنِّي أَجِدُنِي أَقْوَى عَلَى أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ قَالَ: " تَصُومُ يَوْمًا وَتُفْطِرُ يَوْمَيْنِ "، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي أَجِدُنِي أَقْوَى عَلَى أَفْضَلَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " تَصُومُ يَوْمًا وَتُفْطِرُ يَوْمًا " قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي أَجِدُنِي أَقْوَى مِنْ ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " لَا أَفْضَلَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ

✧ He said: 'I will certainly fast as long as I live, and I will certainly pray at night as long as I live.' The Messenger of God ﷺ said to him: 'Are you the one who said: I will certainly fast the whole time as long as I live, and I will certainly pray at night as long as I live?' Abdullah b. Amr said to him: 'I said that, O Messenger of God.' The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Fast and break your fast, pray and sleep, and fast three days of the month, for every good deed is multiplied tenfold.' He said: 'I find myself able to do more than that.' He said: 'Fast one day and break your fast for two days.' He said: 'I find myself able to do better than that.' The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Fast one day and break your fast one day.' He said: 'O Messenger of God, I find myself able to do more than that.' The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'There is nothing better than that.'
