حَدَّثَنَا مِقْدَامٌ: نَا عَمِّي سَعِيدٌ: ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ مُضَرَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

نَحْنُ أَحَقُّ بِالشَّكِّ مِنْ أَبِينَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ، إِذْ قَالَ: رَبِّ أَرِنِي كَيْفَ تُحْيِ الْمَوْتَى قَالَ أَوَلَمْ تُؤْمِنْ قَالَ بَلَى وَلَكِنْ لِيَطْمَئِنَّ قَلْبِي وَرَحِمَ اللهُ أَخِي لُوطًا، لَقَدْ كَانَ يَأْوِي إِلَى رُكْنٍ شَدِيدٍ، وَلَوْ لَبِثْتُ فِي السِّجْنِ مَا لَبِثَ يُوسُفُ لَأَجَبْتُ الدَّاعِيَ

✧ We are more entitled to doubt than our father Ibrahim, when he said: 'My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead.' He said: 'Do you not believe?' He said: 'Yes, but to put my heart at rest.' And may God have mercy on my brother Lut; he used to seek refuge in a strong pillar. And had I stayed in prison as long as Yusuf did, I would have answered the caller.
