وَبِهِ: حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ زُهْرَةَ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ - ﷺ

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُصَلِّي حَيْثُ مَا دَنَا مِنَ الْبَيْتِ، فَقَالَتْ لَهُ عَائِشَةُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، رُبَّمَا صَلَّيْتَ فِي الْمَكَانِ الَّذِي يَمُرُّ فِيهِ الْحَائِضُ، فَلَوْ أَنَّكَ اتَّخَذْتَ مَسْجِدًا تُصَلِّي فِيهِ، فَقَالَ: عَجَبًا لَكِ يَا عَائِشَةُ، أَمَا عَلِمْتِ أَنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ تُطَهِّرُ سَجْدَتُهُ مَوْضِعَهَا إِلَى سَبْعِ أَرَضِينَ

Translation

✧ He used to pray wherever he was near the House. 'A'ishah said to him: 'O Messenger of God, sometimes you pray in the place where a menstruating woman passes; why not take a mosque in which to pray?' He said: 'How astonishing you are, O 'A'ishah! Do you not know that a believer's prostration purifies the spot down to seven earths?'
