✧ My master accused me, so he made me sit on the fire until my private parts were burned. ‘Umar said to her: Did he see that from you? She said: No. He said: Did you confess anything to him? She said: No. So ‘Umar said: Bring him to me. When ‘Umar saw the man, he said: Do you punish with the punishment of Allah? He said: O Commander of the Faithful, I suspected her regarding herself. He said: Did you see that from her? The man said: No. He said: Did she confess it to you? He said: No. He said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, had I not heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: A slave is not to be killed in retaliation from his master, nor a child from his parent, I would have had her retaliated against you. So he brought him out and struck him with one hundred lashes. Then he said: Go, for you are free for the sake of Allah, and you are the freedwoman of Allah and His Messenger. I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever is burned with fire or mutilated is free, and he is the freedman of Allah and His Messenger.
