حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى قَالَ: نَا حَاتِمٌ قَالَ: نَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا عَطَاءٌ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ
هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَدَهَّنُ، وَيَتَسَرَّحُ ؟ قَالَتْ: لَوْ وَجَدْنَا دُهْنًا لَائْتَدَمْنَا بِهِ، وَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ آلَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ تِسْعَةُ أَبْيَاتٍ، مَا لَهُمْ إِلَّا صَاعٌ مِنْ شَعِيرٍ، وَلَقَدْ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا شَبِعَ مِنَ الْبُرَّةِ الْحَمْرَاءِ
Translation

✧ Was the Messenger of God ﷺ in the habit of oiling his hair and combing it? She said: 'If we had found oil, we would have used it as a condiment. I saw the family of Muhammad, and at that time they were nine households, having nothing but a saa' of barley. And the Messenger of God ﷺ departed from this world without ever being satiated with red wheat.'
