حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ، نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، نَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ، عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
لَا تَدْعُوا بِالْمَوْتِ، وَلَا تَمَنَّوْهُ، فَمَنْ كَانَ دَاعِيًا، فَلْيَقُلِ: اللَّهُمَّ أَحْيِنِي مَا كَانَتِ الْحَيَاةُ خَيْرًا لِي، وَتَوَفَّنِي إِذَا كَانَتِ الْوَفَاةُ خَيْرًا لِي

✧ Do not supplicate for death, nor wish for it. Whoever is going to supplicate, let him say: O Allah, keep me alive as long as life is good for me, and cause me to die when death is good for me.
