حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْحُلْوَانِيُّ قَالَ: نَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ طَرِيفٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ذِي مُرٍّ. عَنْ عَلِيٍّ
فِي قَوْلِهِ: الَّذِينَ بَدَّلُوا نِعْمَتَ اللهِ كُفْرًا وَأَحَلُّوا قَوْمَهُمْ دَارَ الْبَوَارِ الْآيَةَ قَالَ: نَزَلَتْ فِي الْأَفْخَرَيْنِ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ: بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ، وَبَنِي أُمَيَّةَ، فَأَمَّا بَنُو مَخْزُومٍ فَقَطَعَ اللهُ دَابِرَهُمْ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ، وَأَمَّا بَنُو أُمَيَّةَ فَمُتِّعُوا إِلَى حِينٍ

✧ Regarding His saying: 'Those who exchanged the favor of Allah with disbelief and caused their people to alight in the house of ruin' - the verse - he said: It was revealed concerning the two boastful clans of Quraysh: Banu Makhzum and Banu Umayya. As for Banu Makhzum, Allah cut off their remnants on the Day of Badr, and as for Banu Umayya, they were given enjoyment for a time.
