حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ، نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَجَلِيُّ، نَا أَبُو شِهَابٍ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ الشَّهِيدِ، عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ
أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بِدَابَّةٍ يَرْكَبُهَا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: الرَّجُلُ أَحَقُّ بِصَدْرِ دَابَّتِهِ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، هِيَ لَكَ، فَرَكِبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَرْدَفَ مُعَاذًا خَلْفَهُ ".

✧ An animal was brought to the Prophet ﷺ to ride. The Prophet ﷺ said: "A man is more entitled to the front of his mount." He said: "O Messenger of Allah, it is for you." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ rode and seated Mu'adh behind him.'"
