حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ، ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَجَلِيُّ، ثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ مُطَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ: قَالَ لِي الْبَرَاءُ بْنُ عَازِبٍ:

أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ دُعَاءً عَلَّمَنِيهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ؟ قَالَ: " إِذَا رَأَيْتَ النَّاسَ قَدْ تَنَافَسُوا الذَّهَبَ وَالْفِضَّةَ، فَادْعُ بِهَذِهِ الدَّعَوَاتِ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الثَّبَاتَ فِي الْأَمْرِ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ عَزِيمَةً عَلَى الرُّشْدِ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ شُكْرَ نِعْمَتِكَ، وَالصَّبْرَ عَلَى بَلَائِكَ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ حُسْنَ عِبَادَتِكَ، وَالرِّضَا بِقَضَائِكَ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ قَلْبًا سَلِيمًا، وَلِسَانًا صَادِقًا، وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ مَا تَعْلَمُ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا تَعْلَمُ، وَأَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا تَعْلَمُ

Translation

✧ "Shall I not teach you a supplication that the Messenger of God ﷺ taught me?" He said: "When you see people competing over gold and silver, then supplicate with these supplications: O God, I ask You for steadfastness in the matter, and I ask You for determination upon right guidance, and I ask You for gratitude for Your blessing, and patience in Your trial, and I ask You for excellence in worship of You, and contentment with Your decree, and I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue, and I ask You for the good of what You know, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what You know, and I seek Your forgiveness for what You know."
