حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الرَّقَّامُ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ، ثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَمِيلَ بْنَ مُرَّةَ، يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ أَبِي الْوَضِيءِ قَالَ:
رَأَيْتُ عَلِيًّا، وَرَأَى رَجُلًا عَلَيْهِ بُرْدٌ يَتَلَأْلَأُ، فَقَالَ: إِخَالُ فِيهِ حَرِيرًا. قَالَ: فَجَمَعَ بَيْنَ صَنِفَتَيْهِ فَشَقَّهُ، وَقَالَ: أَمَا إِنِّي لَمْ أَحْسُدْكَ عَلَيْهِ، وَلَكِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ " نَهَى عَنِ الْحَرِيرِ وَالدِّيبَاجِ

✧ I saw Ali see a man wearing a shining striped garment. He said: 'I think it contains silk.' He then brought together its two edges and tore it, saying: 'I do not envy you for it, but I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbid silk and brocade.'
