حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نُوحٍ، نَا خَالِدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ السَّمْتِيُّ، نَا عَبْدُ النُّورِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ، عَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ:
إِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ أَتَانِي، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يُحِبُّ مِنْ أَصْحَابِكَ أَرْبَعَةً، وَيَأْمُرُكَ أَنْ تُحِبَّهُمْ "، فَقَالَ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِهِ: سَمِّهِمْ لَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَقَالَ: " أَمَا إِنَّ عَلِيًّا مِنْهُمْ "، حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ مِنَ الْغَدِ، قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، النَّفَرُ الَّذِينَ أَخْبَرَكَ اللهُ أَنَّهُ يُحِبُّهُمْ، وَأَمَرَكَ أَنْ تُحِبَّهُمْ ؟ فَقَالَ: " أَمَا إِنَّ عَلِيًّا مِنْهُمْ "، فَلَمَّا أَنْ كَانَ الْيَوْمُ الثَّالِثُ، قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، النَّفَرُ الَّذِينَ أَخْبَرَكَ اللهُ أَنَّهُ يُحِبُّهُمْ، وَأَمَرَكَ أَنْ تُحِبَّهُمْ ؟ فَقَالَ: " أَمَا إِنَّ عَلِيًّا مِنْهُمْ " قَالَ: " عَلِيٌّ، وَأَبُو ذَرٍّ الْغِفَارِيُّ، وَالْمِقْدَادُ بْنُ الْأَسْوَدِ، وَسَلْمَانُ الْفَارِسِيُّ ".

✧ Jibril ﷺ came to me and said: "Your Lord loves four of your companions and commands you to love them." Some of his companions said: "Name them for us, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Indeed, Ali is one of them." The next day they said: "O Messenger of Allah, who are the group whom Allah told you He loves and commanded you to love?" He said: "Indeed, Ali is one of them." On the third day they said: "O Messenger of Allah, who are the group whom Allah told you He loves and commanded you to love?" He said: "Indeed, Ali is one of them." Then he said: "Ali, Abu Dharr al-Ghifari, al-Miqdad b. al-Aswad, and Salman al-Farisi."
