وَبِهِ: عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ:

لَقِيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَبَا ذَرٍّ، فَقَالَ: يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ، أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى خَصْلَتَيْنِ هُمَا أَخَفُّ عَلَى الظَّهْرِ، وَأَثْقَلُ فِي الْمِيزَانِ مِنْ غَيْرِهِمَا ؟ " قَالَ: بَلَى، يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ: " عَلَيْكَ بِحُسْنِ الْخُلُقِ، وَطُولِ الصَّمْتِ، فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ مَا عَمِلَ الْخَلَائِقُ عَمَلًا أَحَبَّ إِلَى اللهِ مِنْهُمَا ".

Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ met Abū Dharr and said: "O Abū Dharr, shall I not guide you to two traits that are lighter on the back and heavier in the scale than others?" He said: Yes, O Messenger of God. He said: "You must have good character and prolonged silence, for by the One in whose hand is Muhammad's soul, creation has done no deed more beloved to God than these two."
