حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ جَنَّادٍ، نَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، قَالَ:

قَالَ لِي عَلِيٌّ: يَا أُسَامَةُ، مَا لَكَ لَا تَخْرُجُ مَعَنَا، إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَيْتِ ؟ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: صَدَقْتَ مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ أَحَقُّ أَنْ أَخْرُجَ مَعَهُ مِنْكَ، وَلَكِنِّي وَاللهِ لَا أُقَاتِلُ الْمُصَلِّينَ بَعْدَ قَوْلِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ: " أَلَا تَرَكْتَهُ، أَوْ شَقَقْتَ عَنْ قَلْبِهِ فَنَظَرْتَ إِلَيْهِ "

✧ Ali said to me: "O Usamah, what is wrong with you that you do not come out with us? You are only a man from the Ahl al-Bayt." I said: "You have spoken the truth. There is no one more deserving for me to go out with than you, but by Allah, I will not fight those who pray after the saying of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: 'Did you not leave him, or split open his heart and look into it?'"
