حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عِرْسٍ، ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ، ثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ الْفُرَاتِ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، حَدَّثَنِي عُمَارَةُ بْنُ غَزِيَّةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ نُعَيْمًا الْمُجْمِرَ، يَقُولُ:

سَمِعْتُ مَرْوَانَ، يَقُولُ لِأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ: وَاللهِ إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّكَ، لَوْلَا أَنَّكَ تُحِبُّ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ، فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ لِمَرْوَانَ: وَمَا لِيَ لَا أُحِبُّهُ، وَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمًا أَتَى بَابَهُمْ، فَقَالَ: يَا حَسَنُ "، فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِ الْحَسَنُ، " فَأَلْقَمَهُ فَاهُ، وَمَصَّ لِسَانَهُ، وَضَمَّهُ إِلَيْهِ، فَوَاللهِ لَا أَزَالُ أُحِبُّهُ

✧ I heard Marwān say to Abū Hurayrah: 'By God, I love you, were it not that you love al-Ḥasan b. ʿAlī.' Abū Hurayrah said to Marwān: 'Why should I not love him, when I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ come to their door one day and say: "Ḥasan," and al-Ḥasan came out to him, so he put his mouth to his and sucked his tongue and embraced him. By God, I will never cease loving him.'
