حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عِرْسٍ، نَا مَيْمُونُ بْنُ كُلَيْبٍ، ثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الزَّنْجِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ:

حَضَرْنَا عُرْسَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ وَفَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَمَا رَأَيْنَا عُرْسًا كَانَ أَحْسَنَ مِنْهُ حَيْسًا، وَهَيَّأَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ زَيْتًا وَتَمْرًا، فَأَكَلْنَا وَكَانَ فِرَاشُهُمَا لَيْلَةَ عُرْسِهِمَا إِهَابَ كَبْشٍ

✧ We attended the wedding of ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib and Fāṭimah bt. the Messenger of God ﷺ, and we did not see a wedding finer than it in terms of ḥays. The Messenger of God ﷺ prepared for us oil and dates, and we ate. Their bed on their wedding night was the skin of a ram.
