حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثَنَا أَبِي، نَا زُهَيْرٌ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ، قَالَتْ:
بَايَعْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَكَانَ مِمَّا أَمَرَنَا بِهِ مِنَ الْمَعْرُوفِ: أَنْ لَا نَنُوحَ، فَقَالَتِ امْرَأَةٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ نِسَاءَ آلِ فُلَانٍ أَسْعَدْنَنِي، فَلَنْ أُبَايِعَكَ حَتَّى أُسْعِدَهُنَّ، قَالَتْ: فَأَسْعَدَتْهُنَّ، ثُمَّ بَايَعَتْهُ، فَلَمْ تَفِ امْرَأَةٌ غَيْرُهَا، وَأُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ
Translation

✧ We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and among the good things he commanded us was that we should not wail. A woman said: "O Messenger of Allah, the women of the family of so-and-so helped me in mourning, so I will not pledge allegiance to you until I help them." She said: "So she helped them, then she pledged allegiance to him. No woman fulfilled it except her and Umm Sulaym."
