حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ، نَا عَبَّاسُ بْنُ أَبِي شَمْلَةَ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ الزَّمْعِيِّ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ عَزَّةَ بِنْتِ خَايِلٍ أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ، أَنَّهَا:

أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، فَبَايَعَهَا عَلَى أَنَّكِ لَا تَزْنِينَ، وَلَا تَسْرِقِينَ، وَلَا تَئِدِينَ فَتُبْدِينَ أَوْ تُخْفِينَ فَقُلْتُ: " أَمَّا الْوَأْدُ الْمُبْدَى عَرَفْتُهُ، وَأَمَّا الْوَأْدُ الْخَفِيُّ فَلَمْ أَسْأَلْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، وَلَمْ يُخْبِرْنِي، وَقَدْ وَقَعَ فِي نَفْسِي أَنَّهُ إِفْسَادُ الْوَلَدِ، فَوَاللهِ لَا أُفْسِدُ لِي وَلَدًا أَبَدًا

✧ She came to the Prophet ﷺ, and he accepted her pledge on the condition that she would not commit adultery, steal, or bury her daughters alive, whether openly or secretly. I said: 'As for open infanticide, I know it, but as for secret infanticide, I did not ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he did not tell me, but it occurred to me that it is the corruption of the child. By Allah, I will never corrupt a child of mine.'
