حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ، قَالَ: نَا خَالِدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْعُمَرِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، زَيْدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَمَّارَ بْنَ يَاسِرٍ، يَقُولُ:
وَقَفَ عَلَى عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ سَائِلٌ، وَهُوَ رَاكِعٌ فِي تَطَوُّعٍ، فَنَزَعَ خَاتَمَهُ، فَأَعْطَاهُ السَّائِلَ، فَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَعْلَمَهُ ذَلِكَ، فَنَزَلَتْ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ: إِنَّمَا وَلِيُّكُمُ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا الَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ الصَّلاةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَهُمْ رَاكِعُونَ فَقَرَأَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: مَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلَاهُ فَعَلِيٌّ مَوْلَاهُ، اللَّهُمَّ وَالِ مَنْ وَالَاهُ، وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ

✧ A beggar stood before Ali b. Abi Talib while he was bowing in voluntary prayer. He took off his ring and gave it to the beggar. He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him of that, and this verse was revealed to the Prophet ﷺ: "Your guardian is only Allah, His Messenger, and those who believe—those who establish prayer and give zakah while bowing." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited it, then said: "Whomever I am his mawla, Ali is his mawla. O Allah, befriend whoever befriends him, and be hostile to whoever is hostile to him."
