حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَنِيفَةَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْحَرَشِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا مُوسَى بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، قَالَ: نَا رَافِعَةُ أَبُو مُوسَى الصَّفَّارُ، قَالَ:

سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ: أَيُّ الصَّدَقَةِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، قُلْتُ: أَيُّ الصَّدَقَةِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ قَالَ: " الْمَاءُ، قُلْتُ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ، أَيُّ الصَّدَقَةِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ قَالَ: " الْمَاءُ، أَلَا تَرَى أَنَّ أَهْلَ النَّارِ إِذَا اسْتَغَاثُوا بِأَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ يُنَادُونَ: أَنْ أَفِيضُوا عَلَيْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ أَوْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللهُ ؟

✧ I asked Ibn 'Abbas: Which charity is best? He said: I asked the Messenger of God ﷺ, I said: Which charity is best? He said: "Water." I said: O Prophet of God, which charity is best? He said: "Water. Do you not see that the people of the Fire, when they call for help from the people of Paradise, they cry out: 'Pour upon us some water or whatever God has provided you?'"
