حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزْدَادَ التَّوَّزِيُّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عِيسَى الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ ضُبَاعَةَ بِنْتِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ

أَنَّهَا ذَبَحَتْ فِي بَيْتِهَا شَاةً، فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: أَنْ أَطْعِمِينَا مِنْ شَاتِكِ، فَقَالَتْ لِلرَّسُولِ: مَا بَقِيَ مِنْهَا إِلَّا الرَّقَبَةُ، وَإِنِّي لَأَسْتَحِي أَنْ أُرْسِلَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِالرَّقَبَةِ، فَرَجَعَ الرَّسُولُ فَأَخْبَرَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " ارْجِعْ فَقُلْ أَرْسِلِي بِهَا، فَإِنَّهَا هَادِيَةُ الشَّاةِ، وَأَقْرَبُ الشَّاةِ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ، وَأَبْعَدُهَا مِنَ الْأَذَى

Translation

✧ She slaughtered a sheep in her house, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent to her: Feed us from your sheep. She said to the messenger: Nothing remains of it except the neck, and I am ashamed to send the neck to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The messenger returned and informed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Go back and say: Send it, for it is the guide of the sheep, the closest part of the sheep to goodness, and the furthest from harm.'
