حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّمَّارُ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ شَابُورَ، عَنْ شَقِيقِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ:
دَخَلْنَا عَلَى سَلْمَانَ، فَدَعَا بِمَا كَانَ فِي الْبَيْتِ، وَقَالَ: لَوْلَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَانَا عَنِ التَّكَلُّفِ لِلضَّيْفِ لَتَكَلَّفْتُ لَكُمْ.

✧ We entered upon Salmān, and he called for whatever was in the house, and said, 'Were it not that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us to put ourselves to trouble for a guest, I would have put myself to trouble for you.'
