حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْأُشْنَانِيُّ الْكُوفِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُوسَى السُّدِّيُّ، قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ طَرِيفٍ، عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ ابْنِ الْحَنَفِيَّةِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ:

لَدَغَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَقْرَبٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ قَالَ: لَعَنَ اللهُ الْعَقْرَبَ، لَا يَدَعُ مُصَلِّيًا وَلَا غَيْرَهُ، ثُمَّ دَعَا بِمَاءٍ وَمِلْحٍ، وَجَعَلَ يَمْسَحُ عَلَيْهَا، وَيَقْرَأُ: قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَ: قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ وَ: قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ

✧ A scorpion stung the Prophet ﷺ while he was praying. When he finished, he said: May God curse the scorpion; it does not spare one who is praying or anyone else. Then he called for water and salt, and began wiping over it and reciting: "Say: O disbelievers," "Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak," and "Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind."
